Physiotherapy

Kevin Honsberger. Kevin graduated with degrees in Physical and Health Education, qualified as a teacher and received his Bachelor of Science - Physiotherapy in 1982 from U of T.  He has worked primarily in the sports medicine field with Dr. Ron Taylor at the Mt. Sinai Sports Injury Clinic and at the Fitness Institute where he was instrumental in reviving the Olympic High Performance Center. Kevin’s focus has been on the biomechanical nature of injuries and how to treat them. He also has a special interest in the role of orthotics and injury management and the assessment and treatment of low back and pelvic injuries.

Margaret Honsberger. Margaret graduated with a degree in physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 1982. With the experience she has gained in working in a variety of hospital, sports and clinical settings, she has developed a great interest in spinal and biomechanically based injuries. Margaret’s experience has been instrumental in developing the Clinic’s approach of developing a team concept between the therapist and the patient in order that treatment, strengthening, conditioning and education combine together in the successful resolution of current and the prevention of future injuries.

Efan Gonsalves.  Efan is the Clinical Director of the Markham clinic and company General Manager.  Efan has 18 years of experience in the fields of orthopaedics and sports medicine.  He is a registered Physiotherapist with a degree from McMaster University and is graduate from the Sports Injury Management (Athletic Therapy) program at Sheridan College.  Efan has worked with all levels of clients, including professional baseball players, and elite figure skaters and track athletes.  Current areas of focus include children's issues, injury prevention strategies, the brain & learning, and concussion management. Lara Janitens.  Lara graduated from McMaster University where she received both her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2011, as well as her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2008. To date, Lara has completed a variety of post-graduate courses including acupuncture, soft tissue release, and her Part A certification for the low back from the McKenzie institute. She is also currently pursuing further education in manual therapy in order to promote continued growth and learning.

Joseph Trambulo.  Joseph was a multisport athlete throughout high school and a collegiate baseball player. He uses various techniques in his Physiotherapy treatments such as acupuncture/dry needling, manipulations, mobilizations, soft tissue techniques myofascial release, trigger point release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization.  Joseph is also Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness and Medical Provider. Joseph has played with various all star teams in Toronto and competing for provincial and national championships. Also he played in the Junior College level in the United States playing in the Junior College World Series.

Meghan Wong. Meghan is an alum of Queen’s University and Wilfrid Laurier University, with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. Meghan has taken courses in acupuncture, Soft Tissue Release, the Mulligan Concept, and manual therapy. Meghan comes from a background of competitive dance, and continues to stay active playing volleyball, practicing yoga, dancing, and going to the gym. Meghan uses her various experiences to provide a holistic approach to physiotherapy treatment.

Jessica Metcalf.  Jessica is a graduate of Western University's Master of Physical Therapy program and Wilfrid Laurier University's Kinesiology and Physical Education program. She is dedicated to ongoing learning, taking post-graduate courses such as Acupuncture, Soft Tissue Release, and Kinesio Taping. Jessica has always had a passion for exercise and sport. Her athletic history includes competitive gymnastics, recreational dance and hockey while these days she dedicates her free time to CrossFit. Jessica uses her experiences as an athlete and former fitness instructor to develop comprehensive treatment programs for her patients.

Tamar Kideckel.   Tamar is a physiotherapy resident, recently completing her Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. She also received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology with distinction from Guelph and a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber. She is currently pursuing additional manual therapy courses to further expand her skill set.  She brings her good training, energetic personality, and new practice techniques to light, in treating her patients. A sports lover and athlete by nature, Tamar played competitive soccer for 12 years. She currently participates in recreational soccer, hockey, and enjoys going to the gym to work out and explore new classes.

Geoffrey Dyck.  Geoffrey is a graduate of Queen's University, where he completed his Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.  While at Queen's he was heavily involved in athletics, playing on the varsity rugby and squash teams as well working as a strength and conditioning coach for school athletes.  His passion for sport and exercise was established at a young age and Geoffrey grew up to play Junior Hockey and compete in cycling and track and field at the provincial level.  Since graduating, Geoffrey has been actively involved in continuing education, taking courses on joint and soft tissue mobilization, exercise prescription, taping and acupuncture. He recently spent a year working closely with the Canadian Military, treating out of the infantry base in Petawawa.  Geoffrey uses these skills to assess and develop comprehensive programs for people of all ages and abilities to improve performance and improve day to day quality of life. In his free time Geoff continues to be actively involved in health and fitness and struggles to train the world's worst behaved dog.



Athletic Therapy/ Athletic Training

Brent Andrews.  Brent is the Assistant Director of our Sport Sciences International division. He is a certified athletic trainer and was the assistant athletic trainer with the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club from 1989-1997. He brings this experience, as well as an extensive background in biomechanics, gait analysis, performance and sport specific training to provide our clients with a multi-functional approach to biomechanical evaluation, injury management, rehabilitation and sports training. Brent is certified CSIA ski instructor, CSCF ski coach, as well as a level 2 NCCP coach in baseball and hockey.

Jason VargheseJason is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Kinesiologist and graduated from York University in 1998.  Jason has several years experience in the athletic, clinical, and hospital-based community.   Jason is the director of our Industrial Rehabilitation (including Functional Ability Evaluations and Ergonomics).  Jason was previously an assistant Athletic Therapist with the Canadian mens Field Hockey team. 

Megan McDonald. Megan graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in Athletic Therapy in 2011. She then went on to obtain a diploma in Holistic Nutrition. After that she completed a diploma in Massage Therapy.  She also received a designation as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is currently studying acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which she will complete in 2018. She has worked in many different multi-disciplinary clinics and treated a variety of acute and chronic issues. Being an athlete herself, she especially enjoys rehabilitating sports injuries. In her spare time Megan enjoys working out, playing volleyball, boxing and spending time with family.

Massage Therapy

Becky SarjeantBecky started her post-secondary study in Exercise Science, a Bachelor degree at Arkansas State University. There she received a four-year Athletic Scholarship for Golf. She went onto Sports Injury Management and is a certified Athletic therapist and a Registered Massage Therapist

Osvaldo Bolanos.  Osvaldo “Ozy” is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA) and the Registered Massage Therapists Association Of Ontario (RMTAO). Osvaldo graduated with honours from Elmcrest College of Applied Health and Business Sciences. He also has a Master Degree in Physical Education from the University of Matanzas in Matanzas, Cuba. He focuses in sport and rehabilitation massage and is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. In addition, he volunteers his time with the Ontario Woman's Soccer League (OWSL) as a team massage therapist for the Etobicoke Energy. 

Adam Honsberger.  Adam graduated from Kikkawa College in 2015 and obtaned his Registered Masssage Therapy license.  He also holds a Degree in Kinesiology from Acadia University. Adam utilizes his experiences as an intercollegiate athlete & coach to combine a biomechanical approach combined with exercise to help his clients reach their lifestyle & health goals. He is also very active within our Sports Vision Training Program and Concussion baseline & rehab programs. As a big sports fan Adam enjoys working with athletes of all sports to help improve their performance and to reach their goals.
