According to recent reports from Health Canada, and from various companies, there has been an increasing amount of reported disability claims, increased sick time, and an excessive use of the extended health care market. Many of us spend the time to manage things such as our finances and the condition of our automobiles, but never stop to think about our own bodies and general health. Our goal at Honsberger Physiotherapy is to educate our clients, and to promote optimal health and efficient performance through biomechanical balance, both in body and function.
Your workers deserve the best for their rehabilitation needs
The key to an effective work recovery program is prevention, and it is due to this preventative goal, that several of our community-based programs have continued to grow and succeed on an ongoing basis. An effective prevention program helps keep injury rates low, decreases time and profits lost to injury, promotes morale, and helps lower WSIB premiums. Thus, we have developed several ergonomic programs to help continue our strive towards preventative health.
What makes our Ergonomic Programs different from the others?
At Honsberger Physiotherapy, we look at the whole body and its biomechanics. Not only how the body functions in relation to the different systems, but also how it functions in the many different environments in which the body is placed in, whether that be in a home or work setting.
Office related injuries are on the rise. In a recently completed company review, we found that 68% of office workers assessed required a full work station ergonomic review. Honsberger Physiotherapy 's ergonomic program is different in that it is an 'Integrated Approach'.
Many companies assess the physical workstation but that is only have of the equation. The other half is the worker themselves. If the worker is aligned improperly then the set-up of the workstation becomes a moot point.
Our program is an Integrated Ergonomics Program. By looking at the different systems of the body as a whole, we can efficiently point out the issues that may predispose an individual towards injury. Also, by understanding the unique relationships of the bodily systems, we have the ability to set-up many different programs to meet our client’s needs.
Below are reasons on why an ergonomics program would be beneficial for you company:
· Enhance positioning at work station
o to reduce fatigue
o to reduce incidence of injuries, especially repetitive strains
· Increased productivity
· Reduce eye strains
· Improved posture
