Custom Orthotics

Custom Orthotics in Markham & Aurora, ON

Make sure your body is supported and working optimally. You may require custom foot orthotics.

Your feet are the foundation of your body. If your feet don’t work properly, for example are over-pronated, then your body’s foundation is weak and your whole body is unstable. Custom orthotics help to strengthen this foundation in those individuals who lack this critical foot stability.

The Honsberger Physio+ difference is that we use the same biomechanical principles in our orthotic consultations as we do in all of our treatments. If the foot functions well, as the foundation of the body, then the entire kinetic chain functions better, toe to head. All other treatments and exercise are subsequently more effective, improving overall health, reducing injury and improving performance.

Orthotics can prevent future injuries, help you overcome previous injuries, and ensure that you’re comfortable and supported while on your feet.

Working in Aurora and Markham, our team specializes in body movement, biomechanics, and performance and can provide in-depth assessments to identify problem areas and customize solutions that meet your needs.

Don’t wait until you suffer from an injury to get the support you need, book an Orthotic consultation to see if custom orthotics are the right choice for you so you can work and play in comfort!

Through wearing custom orthotics, you can improve foot and body function, reduce pain and discomfort, and prevent injuries. They are a valuable tool for individuals who are looking to optimize their health and improve their overall physical performance.

How Does The Process Work at Honsberger Physio+

The process of getting custom orthotics begins with a consultation with one of our foot specialists. During this consultation, we will assess your foot structure, gait, and biomechanics to determine if custom orthotics are necessary and what type of orthotics would be best suited for your needs.

If custom orthotics are recommended, we will take goniometric measurements and do a mold/ impression of your feet. We use Biofoam impression casting, a 3D technique accepted by all insurance companies.

The casts are then sent to a laboratory where the custom orthotics are made.

The laboratory uses the casting to create a three-dimensional model of the foot, which is used to design the custom orthotics. The orthotics are typically made from a variety of materials, such as foam, plastic, rubber, polypropylene, graphite and composite materials and are designed to provide support, cushioning, and stability to the foot.

Once the custom orthotics are ready, we complete a formal fitting of the orthotic. We will ensure that the orthotics fit properly and provide the necessary support and cushioning. We also provide instructions on how to wear and care for the orthotics, including break-in protocols and periodic follow-ups to ensure your orthotics are working optimally.

Overall, the process of getting custom orthotics involves a thorough assessment of your foot and body structure and biomechanics, the creation of a 3D casting of the foot, and the production of the custom orthotics in a laboratory. The fitting and adjustment of the orthotics is a key part of the process to ensure they are effective in addressing your particular problems.
