Hello,
My name is Daniel!
I am an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Certified Athletic Therapist who is
now practicing in Aurora, Ontario!
I joined the Honsberger Physio+ team in August of 2022!
I have been in private practice for over 14 years as well as field coverage for
many sports organizations and events.
Often, I am often asked, “What exactly do you do?
My Athletic Therapy practice has provided me with a wealth of experience assessing
and treating people with all levels of injuries from the field to the clinic. Athletic Therapists
understand the entire injury process from immediate onset, all the way to return-to-play.
This includes all manners of acute and chronic injuries, post-operative rehab, joint
replacement, post-concussion recovery, preventative injury management, bracing, etc.
Whatever your activity level, your age, your sport(s), I tailor my approach to you.
Osteopathy involves skilled manual therapeutic techniques to assess and treat the client,
guiding the natural self-healing properties of the human body. An Osteopathic Manual
Practitioner (often referred to as “Osteo”) recognizes a person as an integrated whole.
So, what does that mean?
The human body relies on self-regulation. This is the harmonious balance between all the body’s systems (musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, digestive, lymphatic, immune, etc.). Disruption or imbalance stemming from injury or disease states will alter the body’s ability to function effectively. Sometimes you can handle it, sometimes you cannot. This depends on the severity and complexity of the issues you have. Often, you’re not exactly sure what the problem is, where or when it happened, but you know it hurts and you know you need help. My treatment plans work in conjunction with other health care professionals you are seeing. I will also advise you when to seek out other health care professionals where necessary.
My clinical approach is to:
- Treat you as a whole person, not just a condition.
- Address short and long-term goals.
- Assess and investigate using extensive health history, biomechanical assessment, mobility testing, craniosacral, organ/visceral, and musculoskeletal evaluation.
- Develop active elements for a home program to help maintain progress.
Regardless of whether you are a high-performance athlete, couch surfer, beer-league, minor league, or no league, I am here to help and get better.
